What is Elements® made of?
Elements is made of a
combination of plastic and wood fibers and contains recycled material content.
What makes Elements decks different from traditional wood?
Elements decks are built with composite decking material
created through an extrusion process. Unlike wood, these
composite wood materials absorb very little moisture, and
are low maintenance.
Does Elements come with a
Limited Warranty?
Yes. Elements decking comes with a 15-year Limited Warranty, with a 3-year Full Start period.
Is Elements low maintenance?
Yes. Elements Decking does not require painting or staining
but should be cleaned semi-annually.
Will the surface of my deck scratch?
As with all walking surfaces, deck boards located in higher traffic areas may show wear earlier than other areas. Dragging furniture and other objects across the deck will cause surface scratches.
How should Elements be handled?
Elements uses a manufacturing process that creates a product
that is heavier and more flexible than traditional wood. Use care and do
not attempt to lift or carry more Elements decking material
than you can safely handle at one time.
Always wear proper clothing and safety glasses when working
with Elements decking products.
Will Elements absorb moisture?
It will absorb very little moisture.
Will termites damage Elements decking?
Elements decking is warranted against termite damage when
installed according to manufacturer's instructions.
See the
Limited Warranty for details.
